Greetings to everyone! Truth and grace multiplied to you all! It has been a while since the last update so we figured now would be a good time to catch everyone up on how we’re doing. As you all might know we’ve safely arrived in Nantucket MASS but not without having an awesome cross country journey getting here! We drove through about ten states, visited lots of friends and family and took heaps of photos along the way! The island is nothing less than classically cool at this time of year and we’re enjoying the goodness of it. Since we’ve been here we’ve found jobs we like and friends to hang out with. These are just a few photos of some of our more recent excursions. Enjoy. –EMj

Greetings to everyone! Love and grace multiplied to you all!

We would like to update everyone on the news concerning Elijah’s peritoneal operation. Elijah recently had his peritoneal operation and it was a success. The surgery was on the morning of March 5th at Baylor Medical Center of Dallas and lasted about an hour and a half allowing Elijah to go home later that afternoon. Since then he’s had two checkups, both very good, and is healing up well. Despite all of the set backs Elijah has faced since September of last year he has made tremendous progress but is still going through a season of restoration. He’s back to skating, filming for a new full length skate video with Index Skateboard Supply (his shop sponsor) and occasionally teaching at local skateparks but is currently uninvolved in ministry as he is going through this season of restoration.

On the 8th of May the Moore’s will be leaving Dallas and going back east to spend the summer on the beautiful island of Nantucket Massachusetts. There, God through His bounty has provided for them many things that will help them to take the next step in their lives like jobs, a small apartment, great godly friends and physical, emotional and spiritual support for Elijah. They are anticipating their upcoming move, excited about what God is doing in their lives and enthusiastic about doing exactly what He expects of them. The drive there will take about a week as they will be stopping in a few cities to visit friends and get treatment for Elijah. They’ve lived near the ocean in the past and agree that it’s a great place to visit when hungry for God. The shores profound grandeur is always a visual reminder to them of God’s vast and unending love, faithfulness and redeeming power for His people.

Greetings to everyone! Love and grace multiplied to you all!

We would like all of you to know that Joy and I recently celebrated our 1year anniversary on the 16th of January! It’s been a difficult 1st year but we did it and owe our success to God! It’s his love in our hearts and grace over our lives that enabled us to make it and as long as we have him we will continue to have an amazing and successful marriage!

Joy and I had our first snow experience together a few weeks ago and wow, what an experience it was. We made an awesome snowboard jump and a really cool snowman named Krusty. We woke up Thursday morning to a beautiful snow day so we decided to celebrate by building a snowboard jump with our friend Jason Pierce . We made the jump, had heaps of fun snowboarding on it and then later warmed ourselves up with pizza. The next day the snow was even thicker so we decided to take photos together and build a snowman. Afterwards we went home where Joy noticed that my ring wasn’t on my finger. “Oh, you took your ring off ” she said. “ I replied, “No I didn’t.” I looked down at my hand and it was gone! Wow, I didn’t even notice. I’d done the unthinkable! The place where we took photos and built Krusty was near home so I immediately went back to searched the snow while Joy searched the house. I couldn’t find it anywhere so I returned home hoping to hear good news from Joy. She hadn’t found it either but I assured her that it would be. If it wasn’t in the house or by where we took photos or by where we made Krusty it had to be by the hill we snowboarded on and that’s exactly where I went next. The drive there was an uneasy one as I wrestled with thoughts of not finding it but I continued encouraging myself that I’d find it. When I got there I found the hill a snowy muddy mess from the day before and knew that finding my ring was near impossible without a metal detector. I searched anyway but my endeavors were marked with failure and disappointment. I returned home to Joy with bad news but again assured her and myself that it would be found. “You’ve hardly looked for your ring.” she said. “Do you even care about finding it?” I was gutted over losing my ring of course I wanted to find it! “The snow will be melted by tomorrow and then I’ll have another look”, I said. Saturday came and went taking very little snow with it and leaving me another day with no ring. On Sunday we went to church where we shared what had happened with friends then afterwards I went back to the places where it could’ve fallen off at it to have another look. I couldn’t find it anywhere! “God, you know where my ring is. Will you please show me where to look and help me find it?” I continued to look and found nothing. I searched and searched and searched and could not find my ring anywhere! Hopelessness was slowly starting to set in as the discouragement of not finding my ring after three days of looking weighed on me. “How could I lose my ring and not feel it slip off my finger? I’ve heard of others losing their rings but I never thought it would happen to me!” Maybe someone found it and I’ll run in to that person, see that they have it and get it back. It could happen.”

The next day I decided to go back to the hill to search for my favorite ring one more time. “I wasn’t wearing gloves when we built the jump so maybe my ring slipped off then.” The sky was clearer and sunnier than it had been Friday, Saturday and Sunday so I just knew that if it was there it would be found. Again I looked and looked and looked and another day of searching came and went with no success. Later that evening I received a call from my friend Sy who goes to the same church as us and also lives near the hill where we built the snow jump. He told me that he had found my ring! “What! Are you sure it’s my ring?” I asked. “Well, it has Joy’s name engraved in it with a diamond as the “O”. Doesn’t your ring have that?” he asked. I said “Yeah!” How did you find it.” I asked. “Well my neighbor’s dog got out so I volunteered to help catch it and found your ring in the process! I looked down and there it was.” It’s a good thing that I told him on Sunday that I lost it otherwise he wouldn’t have known it was missing. I couldn’t believe it! Only God could make something so miraculous happen and I was completely amazed at how he orchestrated me getting my ring back! It was found in a public park that I had searched several times, four days later by a friend! Some don’t like the thought of something so amazing as this being explained away with words like “God did it” but those words are perfectly fine with me.

P.S I got my ring resized for free too. I left it at a jewelry repair shop for a resizing quote and they resized it and gave it back to me 4 days later!

Greetings to everyone! Love and grace multiplied to you all!

We would like to update you all on Elijah’s condition. He’s still undergoing hemodialysis three times a week and is stronger and healthier than he’s been in months! He’s teaching skateboard lessons weekly, recently competed and placed 5th in a miniramp contest, is filming for a Reliance Skateboard Co commercial and planning to switch to peritoneal dialysis. Peritoneal is a form of dialysis that will conveniently allow him to receive treatment in the comfort of his home and continue traveling the globe as a professional skater and evangelist.

Unlike hemodialysis, peritoneal works like natural kidney function helping the body to be clean of toxins and excess fluids 7 days a week. Not only is this the best form of treatment for him but it will also increase his chances of receiving a transplant soon if one is needed. Elijah recently met with a peritoneal nurse and doctor who both agreed that it would be the best form of treatment for him but later changed their minds denying him the operation due to his traveling schedule. This is a serious matter for 2 major reasons. Elijah has a catheter in his heart that allows him to get hemodialysis but it was only supposed to remain in his chest no longer than 90 days or he’d face serious infection risks. The change of minds on the nurse and doctor’s part not only makes it difficult for him to perform his job duties but it has also caused Elijah to exceed his 90day limit leaving him in a dangerous predicament.

Other than new kidneys, peritoneal is the best medical option for Elijah and he will be speaking with another Doctor about the operation. So please join us in prayer for God’s will over this issue. The word of God tells us in James 5:16 that “the prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective” and we’re all righteous through the blood of Jesus Christ! Let your prayers be heard today.

Greetings everyone! Grace and mercy multiplied to you all!

“I will sing of the Lord’s great love forever;
with my mouth I will make your faithfulness known through all generations.
I will declare that your love stands firm forever,
that you established your faithfulness in heaven itself.”

Psalm 89 verses 1&2

Are these words words we can say with an honest exuberance?
If not, why? Is it because of our circumstances? Is it because of our fears and concerns? So many of us are in the midst of seas of difficulty with waves of danger, fear and uncertainty crashing around us. These seas seem impossible to cross but nothing’s impossible for God! Luke 1 verse 37.

“Quiet! Be still” are the words Jesus Christ used to quiet a storm in Mark 4 verse 39 and He can also use these same words to quiet any storms in our lives too! Do we believe that God is bigger than what we’re going through? If so we will not let what we’re going through keep us from praising Him and declaring to the world His power and faithfulness!

First of all, thank you to all who have donated, bought tee shirts & promoted Moore-Love to help us out, we are extremely grateful!

We are now back in Dallas TX where we were able to spend the holidays with family, after a 20 hour road trip from Winchester Virginia. On the way we stopped in Franklin TN for a couple of nights to Visit Bwall from Rainy Day Apparel. We were able to visit his family’s church and film some video updates for the Moore-Love site. They will be available to watch soon so look for them!

Elijah has settled in well at the new dialysis center here in Dallas. The people are really nice and take good care of him. Some days he feels jittery and sick with a headache but other days he’s healthy and active as if he were never sick. Elijah received a CT scan shortly before leaving VA which showed that his pancreas was healed. He has also been skating a lot more with power and style like he used to and is progressively getting better! Praise God!

We have seen God continually pull through for us and it almost always feels like the nick of time but it’s always on time for God!! Please keep praying for full restoration of Elijah’s kidneys, for finances and ministry opportunities.

May the abundance of God’s grace and love saturate your life and lead you in all his ways!

Much love and have a blessed new year,

Moore Love
